Introduction:
This is Manolo, we have being friends for more than 36 years.
The picture were taken in Normandy, on summer 2012, as we left our respective wives at home and I followed him on the pilgrimage of his life.
Each of us has his own dream place, for me it's the Isle of Man, for him the coats of Normandy.
Don't ask me why he is so interested in WWII and D-DAY, but he finally decided it was time to go and have a look at the place for himself.
I was privileged enough to witness this special moment and to capture some portrait of him right where he always wished to be: I don't suggest every portrait photographer should arrange such shooting scenarios, but when they just happen you couldn't ask for more.
From the numerous "tourist pics", I have chosen the best all round portraits, but I still hope the genuine emotions are retained.
In this case, the atmosphere was more important than the technique.

Questo è Manolo, siamo amici da oltre 36 anni.
Le fotografie sono state scattate in Normandia, nell'estate del 2012, quando abbiamo abbandonato le mogli a casa e l'ho seguito nel Suo personale pellegrinaggio.
Ciascuno di noi sogna un luogo speciale, per me è l'Isola di Man, per Lui le coste della Normandia.
Non chiedetemi perché sia così interessato alla Seconda Guerra Mondiale e allo sbarco degli alleati, ma si era finalmente deciso ad andare a dare un'occhiata a questi luoghi storici con i propri occhi.
Ho avuto il privilegio di seguirlo in questo momento così speciale e ritrarlo nel posto dove più desiderava trovarsi: non pretendo che tutti i fotografi ritrattisti debbano ricostruire la stessa situazione, ma quando ti si presenta spontaneamente, cosa si può desiderare di più.
Dalle numerose istantanee "da turista", ho cercato di estrarre dei ritratti completi, ma spero che traspaiano le emozioni genuine del momento.
In questo caso l'atmosfera era molto più importante della tecnica.
